\I don’t think Toffee’s motivations are a ‘personal vendetta against Moon’. I think it’s about *all* Mewmans. That’s why he betrayed his King and killed Moon’s mother when there was talk of ‘peace’.
Of course, it’s also possible that Toffee was simply sure that his lizard army could win against the Mewmans. So sure that he broke away from his King and formed his own army to take on the castle.
When he found that the Mewmens had magic that could defeat them, he simply set about destroying it. Magic, that is. With magic gone, he was free to re-form his army and completely destroy the Mewmans. Whether his drive for defeating the Mewmans was caused by the history of Monster subjugation or simply his own pride, I don’t know. I’d say it’s a bit of both.
Ultimately, I don’t think Toffee has any connection to Eclipsa, or anything deeper than that. I could be wrong of course.
Hey, I was wondering… If the next episode started with a total break down of Toffee’s plan- like, someone sitting everyone down and using hand-puppets to explain everything… Would that make you feel better about it? Like, if they actively spelled it out? (I don’t think they will…)
Obviously, if they have to do that, then they didn’t do a very good job telling their story. I actually agree that they did a pretty *bad* job. Still, I think it makes some kind of sense- and I’m definitely ready to move on. Toffee is definitely dead (otherwise, Eclipsa won’t be freed) so if he comes back, it’ll have to be some kind of ‘revival’.
Also, if it was a part of Toffee’s plan somehow to die in order to release Eclipsa- I would officially have to roll my eyes and sigh. I don’t think that’ll happen, though. Hopefully.
