When I first saw this at NYCC, I was shocked that Filore girl actually died and stayed dead, that was kind of dark.
This episode has two voice actors from avatar and korra. Mae Whitman and Alyson Stoner voiced mermaids. Mae Whitman voiced the one who toke off the jellyfish. And the red lion had an energy weapon at the end of season 1.
I just figured out which mermaid Alyson Stoner plays, it’s the that’s get eaten.
Still watching the rest of the season, but 2 quick fun facts for episode 3 before you review it: 1, it uses a term that’s existed before the series did: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Robeast and 2, the villain of the episode seems to be based on Gurren Lagann mechs http://gurrenlagann.wikia.com/wiki/Gunman
Wait, I just read the first link and realized that the original Voltron created the term in the first place. I was familiar with the term, but not the origin. Cool.
