Is it so weird? This is anime like talking for 8 mins straight before engaging and then endging of the episode and repeat the last 4 mins before engaging stop taking some more fight stop cry a little bit then fight some more its the anime way
Vernal’s display is “wide-ranging weather control.” Not that she generated wind, but that wind was a byproduct of a meteorological event under her control.
The fight scenes though… they’re just so slow now. You can really feel the loss of Monty’s choreography, his sense of weight, movement, and timing. When was the last time someone transformed their weapon mid-stroke?
(Don’t know that the “trapped in ice” scene would’ve changed though, that’s standard RPG bull****: dialog is a free action, cutscenes pause battle.)
