It would be nice to have the black sun ship. I get that some people hate Sun but he does serve as Blake’s support for the first season and that this ship is what the author had in mind to begin with. Blake’s emo-ness is neutralized by Sun’s happy-go-lucky attitude. His character isn’t necessarily likable but that doesn’t mean he’s not interesting.
I guess I disagree that Blake and Sun is what the writers intend. I definitely think Sun is supposed to be a romantic interest for Blake, but it’s always seemed to me like he’s more of a short term thing until Yang comes into play. Shrug, either way he’s definitely important to Blake’s story.
I have a problem with your description of Blake’s motives. Adam explicitly threatens her loved ones – and she believes him and has physical evidence rammed home. One of the reasons for leaving Yang is to reduce the risk to her. One of the main reasons to go home straight away is to at least warn her family, though I agree their are other personal reasons.
Sun was great – how do we have this episode without him? Blake stares at water? I enjoy their dynamic.
(Theory) I think Salem is doing evil Grim physio on Cinder and the damage from Ruby is more like a burn. This was the first part of the conversation, totally unrelated to the following floating Grimm.
Interesting, didn’t think of it from a warn them from adam angle.
Also interesting, Salem converting Cinder… into a werid Grimm person like her?
The whole Zuko thing with the ponytail is in Season 2.
Did anyone catch the thing with Yang? She was based of off Goldilocks and then we had her lose her arm to Adam. Adam is a faunas so he would be like the bears. Also what type of faunas is he?
I loved Sun because of his commentary it was great. I also originally thought Sun was a White Fang member when they showed the hood. No, no don’t compare my child’s semblance to Sun’s. Sun’s semblance moves and is used to attack, Blake’s is more to use it to run. (I’m listening and typing so my thing is out of order and somewhat disjointed) But Blake used the move in episode 1 of volume 3 again. When she threw Yang that one was used again. The Nevermore in Season 1 I think was about the same size as the serpent…dragon thing? OMG DELANEY IS DEFENDING SUN SOMEWHAT ITS A MIRACLE! //coughs//… Blacksun is the equivalent of LadyNoir to me. I would ship BlackSun if Sun was less… Look at me love me, love me!
Now that we have all the main characters can we please see where Neo is? I mean she has a voice actor so she’s coming back, so its just a matter of when. At the end of Season 3 Salem said “Its the end of the beginning Ozpin, and I can’t wait to watch you burn”, implying she knows Ozpin is alive as well. And the only ship name I saw from SalemxCinder is East and West.
(I’m sorry for so many comments and bad grammar. RWBY is just one of my favorites so… this happened.)
Good comments! Yes let’s bring back Neo! East&West, interesting.
Ozpin is alive, Cinder believes he isn’t, Salem knows he is. Also, I’m feeling the Salem/Cinder ship. Not Black Sun though.

Wait, we should probably hold off on shipping them, because I just had a potentially disturbing thought: what if Salem was Cinder’s mom? It wouldn’t be the first time RT pulled off a “I am your mother” plot twist, and I’ve seen several anime where would-be shippable couples turned out to be related (or the same person in one really convoluted plot twist).
lol yeah I could see them doing that.
Sun’s semblance is based on a power the original Sun Wukong had: Sun Wukong is a character from a Chinese myth, who among other powers, could duplicate himself (though he did it by plucking his hairs transforming them into duplicates). Blake’s semblance is because, as a ninja, she is therefore Naruto and can create shadow clones. Nora’s semblance is lightning absorption and control, since she’s loosely based on Thor.
As for Sun as a character: my problem is that he doesn’t really have much impact on the plot. He’s basically a less annoying, yet also more useless Jaune.
Yeah he hasn’t been super relevant to anything but maybe now that he’s in Blake’s storyline he will?
Well Sun reminded me a bit of Cat Noir, take that for what it’s worth.
So Blake and Yang finally return, why is it that Ruby herself is the only member of team Rwby that is allowed to be allowed. At least Blake seems to be improving.
The Zuko moment, Blake let go of her ridden, though she doesn’t look at much as Kagura from Mermaid Heel anymore.
I told you before about Emerald, the death watch for Emerald and Mercury is on, how many more episodes till they die? Don’t want it to happen, but the writing is on the wall.
