While Lapis and all the other gems don’t have to be friends, they do have to co exist, they all live on Earth and more importantly, they have a common enemy, Homeworld, so they have to be on the same page when it comes to dealing with Homeworld.
Lapis doesn’t own Peridot anything? I disagree, she owes her a tape recorder, that is the one she did in “Barn Mates” that went over the line, everything she did was perfectly justified.
I do have this theory, tell me what you think, Lapis trapping Jasper in the Malachite she did it to protect Steven, which I think is true and the main reason for it, but I do think she had other motives. All those centuries trapped, imprisoned, and used, she wanted to take out the hurt on another gem and let them know how she felt, and she took great pleasure in what ever suffering Jasper had.
Lapis does have this dark side, I think even Lapis herself doesn’t want to unleash, I think what she said in “Same Old World”, “after what I did to Jasper”, the tone in that voice is tone of regret or at least realizing she is capable of doing something like that to another living being and it kind of scared she has that capability.
That just my theory, I do think down the road Lapis and Jasper they are going to have to talk this out, and in the words of Peridot talk about their feelings, that is the only way to get closure and move on.
I agree, a lot of the Jasper move for Lapis was a gain control thing, I don’t think it was like a pain revenge thing, but it’s similar. Lapis didn’t have any concept of what the tape recorder meant to Peri and she was pestering her too much but yeah it’d be nice if she tried to get her a new one or something.
