You should compare the Avatar finale to Gravity Falls finale (maybe Korra finale too)
Hi Dylan,
a couple of interesting aspects
1. I think the story telling changes between the two shows in pacing. With the 13ish episodes the story telling is more shorthand, which is a stylistic change that I think I prefer.
2. Sometimes seasons bleed into finales. I have trouble ranking AB1 high because my feeling of struggling to watch B1 bleed into the finale.
3. As an “older” fan I thought I’d never have as much fannish fun as through almost all of Buffy, but Korra came very close. So there is a chance for more!
Hey Peter, thanks for listening as always. Yeah good point, Korra definitely has more frenetic pacing. And yeah I agree, hard to just isolate the finales and if you look at the whole seasons AB1 looks worse but I think it’s slightly easier for that one because of the isolated arc. Good to know people can get into something as much when older too; hard for me to see in myself now but I wouldn’t really know so lets hope.
